Six aspirants have picked nomination forms to contest the National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary primaries ahead of the Ayawaso East by-election scheduled for 7th February 2026.
The nomination process closed on Friday, 24th January 2026, with the following aspirants picking forms: Mohammed Ramne, Mohammed Abdul Salam, Yakubu Azindow, Mohammed Baba Jamal Ahmed, Najib Mohammed Sani, and Amina Adam.
Party officials say all aspirants are expected to submit their completed nomination forms on Tuesday, 27th January 2026, at the Regional Office, after which vetting arrangements will be announced.
The Ayawaso East by-election follows developments that necessitated a new parliamentary contest in the constituency.
Meanwhile, the Supreme Court is expected to deliver its ruling on the Kpandai parliamentary rerun on Wednesday, 28th January 2026, a decision that could have implications for the affected constituency.
