Asiedu Nketia to Ashanti: NDC Will Deliver on Promises

The National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has assured the people of the Ashanti Region that the party will fulfil its campaign commitments following its victory in the 2024 general elections.

Addressing residents at Nsuta Kwamang Beposo on the first day of his Ashanti Regional “Thank You Tour,” Mr. Asiedu Nketia said the NDC remains focused on delivering meaningful development and will not abandon the assurances given to the electorate.

He explained that beyond expressing appreciation, the tour is intended to promote accountability by enabling the party to periodically review its performance in government.

According to him, despite inheriting significant economic and governance challenges, the administration led by President John Dramani Mahama has already begun implementing measures to stabilise the country and improve livelihoods.

Mr. Asiedu Nketia pointed to ongoing initiatives in key sectors such as education and water as early indicators of progress, noting that these efforts are gaining recognition across political lines.

He also attributed the NDC’s electoral victory to widespread national support, stating that many Ghanaians, regardless of political affiliation, backed the party in a bid to reset the country’s direction.

Touching on internal party matters, he urged members to remain united and avoid unnecessary disputes over positions. He emphasised the importance of retaining experienced executives who played key roles in the 2024 campaign, cautioning that unwarranted changes could affect the party’s future electoral strength.

At the same time, he called for the removal of underperforming officials and encouraged continuous grassroots engagement to sustain the party’s connection with the people.

Mr. Asiedu Nketia concluded by thanking chiefs, religious leaders, party supporters, assembly members, and donors for their contributions to the NDC’s victory, reaffirming the party’s commitment to inclusive governance and national development.
