NPP Birmingham Chairman Declares Support for Dr. Bawumia, Urges Delegates to Vote Number Three

The Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Birmingham Chapter, Prince Kwadwo Osei, popularly known as One in Town, has publicly declared his unwavering support for the candidature of former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, describing him as the party’s best opportunity to reclaim power in the 2028 general elections.

Speaking in his personal capacity, Prince Kwadwo Osei emphasized that his endorsement was based on conviction, experience, and a careful assessment of the party’s political journey.

“I bring you this message not as a collective decision, but on my own behalf, to declare my unflinching support for the candidature of His Excellency Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia,” he stated.

According to him, the NPP has a strong tradition of believing in leadership continuity and second chances, citing former Presidents J.A. Kufuor and Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo as examples.

“As a party, we once believed in President Kufuor and President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo by giving them the opportunity to retry. I think it is only fair that we do the same for His Excellency Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia,” he noted.

Touching on the aftermath of the 2024 elections, the NPP UK executive member argued that calls for a change of candidate would be unfair and misplaced.

“Looking at all the issues surrounding the 2024 elections, it would be very disingenuous for us to think that Dr. Bawumia needs to be replaced. Inasmuch as other candidates may be fit, I am of the firm conviction that Dr. Bawumia supersedes all others by every fair measure needed to lead the NPP,” he said.

Prince Kwadwo Osei further highlighted the core values of the NPP, stressing that the party transcends religious, ethnic, and geographical boundaries.

“The NPP is a tradition that believes in inclusivity and diversity. It transcends religion and boundaries, and Dr. Bawumia has consistently exemplified the ‘I can do’ spirit since he came into the limelight of the party,” he added.

Calling directly on delegates, particularly those in the United Kingdom, he urged them to rally behind the Vice President in the upcoming internal elections.

“I appeal to all delegates, especially delegates from Birmingham and across the UK, to once again trust Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia with your vote. The possibility train has not grounded, and it must not be grounded,” he urged.

He concluded with a strong call to action ahead of the polls.

“Vote Number Three on the ballot this Saturday. Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia represents our destiny, and I am confident he will deliver. Let us move forward, not backward, and win together,” he concluded.
