The bursar of Ghanata Senior High School (SHS), Lamisi Sarah, has been arrested over allegations of diverting food supplies meant for students.
The Member of Parliament for Shai-Osudoku and Greater Accra Regional Minister, Linda Ocloo, disclosed the development following what she described as credible reports of misconduct at the school.
According to the Minister, complaints received in recent weeks suggested that portions of food provisions intended to support student welfare and nutrition were being diverted.
Describing the alleged act as disturbing, Ocloo said the matter represents a serious breach of trust and public duty, particularly as the supplies are meant to ensure proper nourishment for students.
Upon receiving the complaints, she said she alerted the constituency’s National Security apparatus to conduct a discreet investigation into the matter.
She indicated that while she was in the constituency on Tuesday, February 17, the alleged activity was confirmed and the suspect was apprehended.
“I directed the officers to hand her over to the Police so that due process can take its full course under the law,” she stated.
The Minister stressed that such incidents undermine public confidence in state institutions and directly affect the well-being of students.
She emphasised that accountability would be upheld and anyone found culpable would face the full rigours of the law.
