“Don’t Destroy the Elephant, Don’t Destroy the Party” — NPP-UK Chairman Sounds Alarm Ahead of Jan. 31 Polls

The Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) UK Branch, Mr. Kingsley Adumattah Agyapong, popularly known as Wofa K, has issued a heartfelt appeal to party members and presidential aspirants to exercise restraint and protect the unity of the party ahead of the January 31 internal elections.

“You are this tall, you see this far because you stood on the shoulders of the great Elephant. Don’t destroy the Elephant. Don’t destroy the party,” Mr. Agyapong cautioned, expressing concern over what he described as rising levels of internal negativity and self-destruction within the NPP.

Mr. Agyapong, who assumed office on May 22, 2022 after receiving overwhelming endorsement from delegates, has since become a strong advocate for discipline, unity, and collective responsibility within the NPP-UK Branch. Known among the grassroots as a unifier, he has consistently called on communicators and supporters of various factions to prioritize peace and party cohesion.

Speaking during a media engagement on Bethel Radio/TV in London before departing for Ghana, the NPP-UK Chairman warned that the current trend of internal attacks could have damaging consequences beyond the primaries if party members fail to reflect and pull back.

According to him, the level of internal discord being witnessed is unprecedented and poses a serious threat to the party’s collective goal of returning to power in the 2028 general elections.

In a solemn message directed at the five presidential aspirants, Mr. Agyapong reminded them that their political visibility, recognition, and achievements were made possible by the NPP. He stressed that the Peace Pact signed by the aspirants should not be treated as a ceremonial exercise, but rather as a genuine commitment rooted in deep reflection and loyalty to the party’s future.

Despite his concerns, Mr. Agyapong expressed confidence that unity would ultimately prevail and that the NPP would emerge stronger after the January 31 elections.
