Bawumia Wins Big at NPP Headquarters, Secures 308 Votes Against Ken Agyapong

Former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has secured a commanding victory at the New Patriotic Party (NPP) headquarters polling centre, emerging as the clear frontrunner in the party’s ongoing presidential primary.

Dr. Bawumia garnered 308 votes, representing approximately 64 per cent of the total ballots cast at the party’s head office. His closest contender, outspoken businessman and MP Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, obtained 160 votes, accounting for about 33 per cent.

The remaining three aspirants recorded minimal support at the polling centre. Former Education Minister Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum and former Minister for Food and Agriculture Dr. Bryan Acheampong each secured three votes, while former NPP General Secretary Kwabena Agyei Agyepong polled seven votes.

The results from the NPP headquarters underscore Dr. Bawumia’s strong support among party insiders as the nationwide exercise continues.

Across the country, more than 211,000 delegates are expected to cast their ballots at over 300 polling centres, as the governing party selects its flagbearer ahead of the 2028 general elections.

Counting and collation of results are ongoing, with party leadership urging calm and unity among supporters as the process unfolds.
