Andy Owusu, a leading member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the United Kingdom, has officially declared his intention to contest for the position of NPP UK Branch Chairman, promising to strengthen party structures and mobilise support towards the 2028 general elections.
Announcing his ambition, Mr. Owusu appealed to party members to support his vision of unity, growth, and effective leadership. He emphasised his commitment to serving the branch with dedication and integrity.
“In humility, I seek the support of fellow patriots in the UK as your next Branch Chairman. I am committed to serving with integrity, passion, and vision,” he stated.
Mr. Owusu highlighted the crucial role the diaspora plays in supporting the party’s electoral fortunes, stressing that the UK branch must remain united and proactive in advancing the NPP’s agenda both locally and internationally.
He noted that his leadership would focus on strengthening party structures, enhancing member engagement, and fostering collaboration among stakeholders to ensure the branch remains vibrant and impactful.
“Together, we will strengthen our party, drive positive change, and help our flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, win the 2028 elections,” Mr. Owusu said.
According to him, his decision to contest stems from a deep commitment to the party’s values and a desire to contribute meaningfully to its future success.
“It will be an honour to lead and represent our shared vision and values,” he added.
The NPP UK Branch remains one of the party’s most active external chapters, playing a significant role in diaspora mobilisation, fundraising, and advocacy for the party’s policies and programmes.
Party members are expected to elect new executives in the coming months as part of efforts to reposition the branch ahead of the next electoral cycle.
