Madina MP Francis Sosu doing well after collapsing at GIMPA – Office

The Office of the Member of Parliament for Madina, Francis-Xavier Sosu, has confirmed that he is doing well after he collapsed while delivering a speech at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) on Thursday, September 24.

The MP was speaking about his personal experiences, leadership and commitment to public service when he suddenly appeared to lose consciousness on stage. Moments before the incident, he told the audience: “I respectfully submit that if you want to be a good leader, let service be your hallmark.”

People at the event quickly rushed to the stage to assist the MP after he collapsed. He briefly appeared to regain consciousness and seemed ready to continue his speech but soon began to slump again. He was subsequently assisted off the stage and taken for medical attention.

In a statement issued later on Thursday, his office confirmed that had received the necessary medical attention and was doing well.

The office also acknowledged reports, videos and other content circulating on social media about the incident and urged the public to remain calm.

It cautioned the public against relying on unverified reports or speculation about the MP’s condition.

The office expressed appreciation to constituents, supporters and well-wishers for their concern, prayers and messages of support, and said further information would be communicated through its official channels when necessary.
