The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has introduced an online registration portal to make it easier for members across the country and abroad to register and obtain their party membership cards.
The initiative is aimed at addressing concerns raised during the ongoing nationwide registration exercise, including allegations of some constituency officers and polling station executives mishandling the registration process.
The party’s membership registration exercise, which began on March 1 and is expected to end on March 31, has faced a number of operational challenges in some areas. In response, the party leadership has rolled out the digital platform to make the process more efficient and accessible.
Announcing the portal at a press conference, NPP General Secretary Justin Kodua Frimpong said the online system will provide members with a more flexible and convenient way to register and pay their dues.
According to him, the platform is designed to accommodate registered voters, non-registered voters as well as Ghanaians living abroad who wish to become members of the party.
Under the new system, prospective members are required to complete the online registration form and pay the applicable dues through the portal. Once the process is completed, applicants will receive a temporary digital membership card while arrangements are made for the issuance of their official party cards.
Party officials say the online portal is expected to enhance transparency, reduce administrative bottlenecks and ensure a smoother registration process for members nationwide.
