NDC Condemns Bribery in Ayawaso East Primaries, Launches Investigation

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has condemned reports of widespread bribery and vote-buying allegedly carried out by some aspirants during the Ayawaso East constituency primaries held today.

In a statement issued by the party’s General Secretary, Hon. Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, the NDC described such actions as an affront to the party’s values and the “Reset Agenda” it is championing.

“The party vehemently condemns these actions in no uncertain terms. They undermine the principles of democracy and the integrity of our internal processes,” the statement read.

Hon. Kwetey further announced that the party has launched a full-scale investigation and would take swift action against any candidate found guilty of engaging in inducement or vote-buying.

He added that in future, the party may impose more drastic sanctions, including the cancellation of primaries, should similar incidents occur.

The allegations come amid heightened tensions in the Ayawaso East NDC primaries, which have attracted significant attention from party members and the public. The investigation is expected to provide clarity on the matter in the coming days.
