FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The entire leadership of NPP UK extends its warmest congratulations to H.E. Dr Mahamudu Bawumia on his emphatic victory in the just-ended presidential primaries of the New Patriotic Party.
This outcome is a powerful testament to the overwhelming confidence that delegates and party members have reposed in his leadership, vision, competence, and unwavering commitment to the advancement of our great party and the development of the Republic of Ghana. His victory reflects the trust in his ability to lead the NPP into the next general election with clarity of purpose and a renewed sense of direction.
We also wish to place on record our deep appreciation and admiration for all the other distinguished aspirants who participated in this contest. Their campaigns enriched internal party discourse, strengthened grassroots engagement, and demonstrated the vibrancy of democratic practice within the NPP. Their statesmanship, maturity, and prompt acceptance of the results in good faith, coupled with their public pledge to rally behind the flagbearer, embody the true spirit of unity, loyalty, and patriotism that defines our party.
This primary election has once again shown that the NPP remains a party rooted in democratic values, internal cohesion, and respect for due process. It is this culture of unity in diversity that continues to set our party apart.
History has shown that the NPP is a resilient and forward-looking party, capable of reorganising, rebuilding, and returning from opposition to win the confidence of the Ghanaian people at the polls. From difficult moments in opposition to decisive electoral victories, our tradition has always been one of renewal, strategic focus, and disciplined unity. It is within this proud tradition that we are confident that Dr Bawumia is well positioned to lead the party once again on the path to national victory.
As we celebrate this significant milestone, we urge all party faithful, both in Ghana and across the diaspora, to measure our celebrations with dignity, restraint, and respect. While this is a moment of joy for us as a party, we must remain mindful that the ultimate task ahead is the national election. Our focus must now shift from internal competition to collective mobilisation, strategic engagement, and disciplined messaging.
The NPP has won an internal contest; the bigger victory lies ahead in winning the hearts and confidence of the Ghanaian people. This calls for unity of purpose, renewed energy, and unwavering commitment from every member of the party.
Let us therefore rally solidly behind our flagbearer, support his vision, and work together as one united family to secure victory for the New Patriotic Party and continued progress for Ghana.
