The New Patriotic Party (NPP) USA Youth Organiser, Danny Opoku Antwi, has revealed strong diaspora support for Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia ahead of the party’s presidential primaries scheduled for this Saturday.
Speaking on Bethel Radio/TV in an interview with host Thomas Oheneba Boakye, Mr. Opoku Antwi disclosed that 17 out of 20 NPP-USA chapter youth organisers and delegates he has personally consulted across the United States have expressed their readiness to support Dr. Bawumia.
According to him, the consultations were part of wider engagements with party chapters to assess grassroots sentiments and determine the preferred candidate to lead the NPP going forward. He noted that feedback from the majority of the chapters has been consistent, reflecting strong confidence in Dr. Bawumia’s leadership, experience, and vision.
Mr. Opoku Antwi said many chapter executives believe the Vice President represents continuity, competence, and unity, qualities they consider crucial for consolidating the party after the primaries and positioning it for success in the 2028 general elections.
He further indicated that he is actively mobilising delegates and urging them to turn out in large numbers on Saturday to vote, while stressing the importance of peace, unity, and discipline before, during, and after the elections.
As the NPP presidential primaries draw closer, signals from the diaspora continue to shape internal party dynamics, with overseas organisers and delegates playing an active role through consultations and mobilisation efforts.
